How wide is too wide?
Original TRD2000GT wheel setup is:
F 17x7 +13 215/40R17 R 17x8.5 +7 245/40R17
I currently have Volk GT-C's with Falken 452's on my TRD:
F 17x8 +23 225/35R17 R 17x10 +12 265/40R17
My car is not a turbo, so do you think that this setup is far too wide???
My thinking is that it slightly ruins the handling/steering and also provides too much grip for the power available making the car slower.
Anyone knowledgable about this stuff care to comment.....

Re: How wide is too wide?
I've got volk/ray te37's 17×7 1/2 225/40 front and 17×10 255/40 on the rear. I have a gen3 Turbo and I have yet to break the rear tires loose in a straight line. I don't beat my car though.

Re: How wide is too wide?
Hi,
I have Volks GTS 19 x 10.5 rears running 275/30/19 and 18 x 8 fronts, running 215/40/18; Haven't driven it yet as it's just about to come out of the paint shop, but will post up a build thread and engine spec when it's done.. In the meantime, here is the link to the most recent page on the thread:
http://www.mr2australia.com/MR2play/tm.aspx?high=&m=20720&mpage=13#52746
If you have a few minutes, and read the thread (it's quite long as the first 4 pages are me trying to figure ou what to bloody do with the fibreglass kit!!) but you'll get a good idea of where am at with it - hoping to be on the road within a week/ten days..
- am from UK, though based in Australia... be keen to hear other people's views on the "too wide" issue
Cheers

Re: How wide is too wide?
TBH I think your wheels fill your arches really nicely looks wise, though as I havent driven the car I can't comment on the handling.
If its not rubbing or clashing with bodywork or suspension components then its definitly not too wide.
