3 Piece Split-Rims - Clean the Studs the Easy Way

As beautiful as they are genuine 3 piece split rims are very maintenance when it comes to cleaning. This is especially true of Work Equip type wheels that have fluted torx style studs.

After spending countless house cleaning the studs it suddenly dawned on - why not use an electric toothbrush????!!! Best decision I've ever made! LOL

Just put a generous helping of Belgom Aluminium polish on with a rag then let the toothbrush do all the work (make sure its the "Alu" one as they do different ones all confusingly in very similar bottles - works a treat on stainless exhausts too.









You can see in this pic the difference between the top 2 studs I've not done yet compared with the lower studs that Ive finished.



When you've finished just wipe off the excess with a cloth and if your fussy use a cotton bud to clean the dimple in the top the stud.

Now I knew that these wern't going to stay like that for long so I gave them a couple of coats of poorboys wheel sealant - absolutely brilliant stuff and dirt just drops off now with the least of effort.



Here's my wheels a couple of months after cleaning - still sparkling :-)

Would this stuff at technique be good on the rims I bought off you mate?
