Hi all
hi,
it was me who managed to get this for £390
Since buying it a great deal of work has been carried out,
the na engine has been removed and a forged rebuilt engine has been fitted,
i am about two to three weeks away from firing it up for the first time so im getting kinda nervous.
A dash was fitted,fuel tank,suspension and running gear,twin plate clutch,brakes,radiator and fans,hoses,
all fuel lines, front and rear screens, both side windows and quarter windows.
The car has been rewired, and rev 3 lights fitted, low rise fronts are going to be used as i have both gto and motorbike lights available, the existing lights had allready had the arms and cams shortened.
Theres so much more its hard to remember it all,but i have a few poorly taken pictures which i will post soon.
The plan is to get it running, then sprayed white with a black roof,
im in two minds whether to use the boot spoiler or not yet,ill get it sprayed off the car then decide.

Hi all
At the time i know Jeff was watching this one,
no room on the drive though
i have to say there was more to be done than i originally thought,
and i reckon it was a canny decision on your part Jeff.
This is when i bought it,
all the glass had been smashed,
headlight ripped out,
na engine not running,
3 tyres were flat,
most of the clocks were misiing,
no seats, the carpets were mouldy, interior soaking wet,
alarm system was without part of the wiring,
the advertised big brake kit was just standard rev 3 stuff and no handbrake cables,
several parts of the kit had sustained cracks etc.
spoiler leaves a lot to be desired
I have been using this as a donor car
A rev 2 turbo converted to rev 3
i bought it a while ago and found out after that it had been in a prang, which had been repaired
First off was to get the cabin sealed,
the door windows and rear quaters were fairly straightforward, allthough the windows were a bit fiddly in adjusting so they closed and sealed properly.
T bar glass was a straight swap.
i fitted new door seals, and checked the t bar seals for wear but they looked surprisingly good.
I knew a guy who works for a national auto glass company, and he came and removed front and rear screens from the donor and fitted them to the widebody.
He noticed that the donor had been resealed with silicone, and then explained just how much window fitters hate the stuff,it doesnt react well with the correct mastic and will eventually leak again,
not to mention that when attempting to spray the car silicone particles will ruin the paint as its applied,
so guys......silicone is a no no
Heres the car with no glass
I did quite like the look of the way the kit had been fitted, the doors had been flared slightly to match in with the start of the rear wings,
The doors had also had the locks and handles removed,
this was why the headlight had been ripped out,as there was a cable there to release the door

Re: trd project on ebay
Just a couple of pics
interior going in
Doors removed, car frames and door frames sprayed super white 2
so when its respayed the paintshop doesnt have to start removing things
These monoflex teigns have now been fitted and the edfc controller is being wired in this week
the teing pillowball rods have also been fitted
Steering wheel came from a rover, just changed the bosses over,
i preffered this wheel as it has had little wear and is a bit chunkier
New radiator,and fans
Gearbox painted and being fitted
Blitz(ogura)twin plate clutch and flywheel
Engine just prior to installation
mmmmmmmmm hks
A pic taken a few months ago
showing the Rogue lights
oh , and the wing mirrors have been replaced with Toyota retractable ones

Re: trd project on ebay
Hi all
Yep it feels like busy
Allthough it doesnt look like it ive been working on it every weekend for a year,
trouble is i see something that i think will be beneficial and i buy it,
and end up with piles of bits to fit, like we all do
Then there are the holdups we all get doing these cars,
i couldnt find any ARC anti roll bar brackets anywhere,so had them made,
the obx alloy sump from the USA leaked in 3 places,
my original downpipe had an unnoticed hairline crack,
so strip down again to fit a berk one,the list goes on......
And the dash and interior have been removed 3 times now in an ongoing process.
The weather hasnt helped either as i dont have a garage,so its, as and when theres no rain.
Hopefully not too far away from actually driving it now though
I suppose looking at that gold colour for a year has made me hate it lol
its going to be super white 2
Anyway this is what turned up today
and they really are massive
Thing is their are 4 bleed nipples on each caliper,do i bleed all 4?
EDIT:yes all 4 are to be bled inners first then outers.
Infamous i pmd you bud on the imoc site
cheers guys

Re: trd project on ebay
Hi all
Just a little update here,
car starts and runs fine after fitting an apexi tsunami turbo,dp,heatshield etc.
also fitted a remote oil cooling system with mocal stat, and radiator ,
(had to do this as the apexi manifold fouled the rev 2 oil filter).
currently fitting a boot mounted intercooler which is 4 inch core and huge
items waiting to be fitted are,
cooling mist meth injection setup,
850cc injectors and fuel rail.
Item under construction, a rev 3 inlet manifold with a larger tank, and reverse mounted nissan q45 throttle body,
also because front end lift worries me,a friend is currently making a set of motorised front canards.
car still unpainted as yet,but since my last post absolutely loads has been done.
regards
steve

Even if its slow progress is progress! Looking forward to seeing it once finished :-)
Re: trd project on ebay
Primered the car on the drive this weekend as it was a dry day.
More work to do yet before topcoating.

Re: trd project on ebay
You just like looking at your old wheels
Chavvy badges on the seats are coming off,
and ive decided on a lower profile front tyre,35's probably.
currently having made a front bumper undertray in aluminium,to add some rigidity to this kit,
which appears to be an extreme dimensions one.
Never liked the circular fuel filler these kits come with,so someone on imoc made me a trd style which looks so much better, still work to be done there though, not happy with the hinge style and alignment needs to be done.
The boot mounted intercooler and fans are fitted and sealed.
This will blow air from the boot area out through the floor, trouble is when they fitted this kit they foam filled the
area around the natural boot vents.
On the flat underneath edge of the rear bumper i have fitted 2 air tubes ,one either side , this now feeds air into the boot.
Theres not really a lot of room in there now after the ic pipework is fitted,so i may have to rejig things to allow the methanol tank to be located.
